My Musician

I've decided that Hannah has about a 75% chance of being a musician. This is how I've come to this mathematical decision. For starters, she has been surrounded by music since she was in the womb. She loves music and dances to songs that she likes. The GREAT news is that so far, she doesn't like pop music or R&B, so that's great for me because I won't have to listen to that stuff either. She always starts dancing when she hears alternative rock or Christian music, so for that I'm thrilled. Secondly, I'm a musician, and so she'll be surrounded by music, singing, and instruments her entire life. I also teach music, so she'll be getting free vocal coachings and piano lessons if she so chooses. I'm always game for a guitar in the house too, so if she wants that, I'm sure her Pop Pop or her Nanny wouldn't mind getting her one!!! :)

Here we are at her Li Li's house on Thanksgiving playing the keyboard. Hannah was having so much fun playing Amy's keyboard because the keys light up when you hit them.
I think she loves it!!!

First Thanksgiving!

Today Hannah celebrated her first Thanksgiving. Last year at this time, she was almost ready to make her big debut into the world. I can't believe that it's been almost a year since she was born!!! Time is really flying!

She's even walking now... such a big girl!!We drove to Jeannerette first to visit with James' family. Hannah's great grandfather, Paw Paw Willie, is in the wheel chair. Also with us in the picture are James' two sisters, Kristy and Denise, and our neice Hayley and our nephew T.J.
Here we are at my Aunt Linda's house. This is my mom, me and the baby, my sister Tammy, and my Aunt Linda. The other folks, including James, my mom's hubby "Pop Don," and his mom Alice were inside grubbing on some good fried turkey and all the trimmings!

The happy family...

This is my sister Tammy. We are best buds and she is in LOVE with Hannah.

Later that day, our buddy Amy came over and I played the piano and we sang some Christmas carols. Hey, I know it is Thanksgiving, but Christmas is close so we started early!!! It was a great day. Then again, every day that Hannah is in our lives is a great day. God is good!!!

Day at the Park

Giraurd Park
Lafayette, Louisiana
November 2006
We took Hannah on her first trip to Giraurd Park. We have been waiting for the weather to cool off. Unfortunately for us folks in Louisiana, it's either HOT like Africa or suddenly, winter blows in and it's 45 degrees. Today was more like 50 than 100, but we just bundled up and headed out to the park.
Mommy and Daddy enjoyed watching Hannah as she watched, studied, and pointed to everything.
Soon I'll post the pics of Hannah and DaDa feeding the ducks!

Eleven Months!

Hannah is eleven months old now. Time is sure flying by. Here she is in her pretty white and blue flower dress. I think that she is so used to the camera now that she probably thinks it's permanently fixed to my face!!
She is playing peek-a-boo with my set for this photo shoot.... she thinks it's so cute (I do too, naturally, but she's STILL messing with my set!).

You know, I take about thirty to fifty pics of her each time we do a 'photo shoot' because it takes that many for you to get the perfect shot sometimes. And with a BABY it's even more tricky because you never know what they are going to do, where they are going to go, or how fast they'll do it!! Here's what the typical picture looks like:
And this is what you would hear me saying... "Hannah! Hannah! Look at Mama! Hannah!! Over here, baby girl... sit down... don't fall baby... here Hannah, sit like Mama showed you..."

A Day at the Zoo

Hannah had her first trip to the Zoo. We live about two miles from the Zoo of Acadiana. It's a small, quaint zoo, complete with lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my! Hannah had a great time watching the animals at the zoo.

Here's Gabe the Giraffe. He is the cutest thing. When you call his name, he will come near you. And if you ask me, he actually posed for the camera!

Here's a little monkey who wasn't monkeying around when it came to eating his dinner. He was all business. He was so close we could literally reach out and touch him if we wanted to.

I'll post some more pics that we took from the zoo, so check back later!!

Fall Day

Miss Hannah and I had a great time enjoying the fall day together. The weather was nice and crisp, so mommy and baby decided to bundle up and wear our new fall clothes and go sit and play outside. Hannah loves the crisp air and the crunchy leaves.

Bath time!

Miss Hannah loves bath time. She's in the 'big girl tub' now... she doesn't need a baby tub. She learned how to crawl out of the baby tub, so it became more of a game to see if she could get out of the baby tub than to stay in it to get cleaned up. So we knew it was time to put the baby tub in storage. She's just growing too fast!!! Anyway, now that she gets to be in the big tub with all that room, she loves to take bubble baths and chase all the bubbles around in the water.
Her new favorite thing to do is to play with the running water.
She used to be afraid of it because it makes a lot of noise. But now she can't wait to get into the tub so she can splash around in the water. It's so cute! I usually leave DRENCHED after she takes a bath because she splashes so much!!
It's adorable.

Cutest Trick-r-treater in town!

Ta Da!!!

I'm mama's "lil punkin!"

My baby girl is learning early!! Candy in BOTH hands!!

You KNOW this is my baby... she's going for the chocolate! (okay, for all you who are freaking out... NO, she didn't really eat any candy. Sheesh. She hardly even eats table food yet!)
