I haven't put up any pictures on Hannah's blogs in so long because I got sucked into the world of Facebook! Now everything is over there and I forget to put things on Hannah's blog. Here are a few new pictures of her...These are from a photo shoot I did with my friend Leslie and her kids at Girard Park. I had to get a couple of Hannah too while we were there... she's such a good model!

Vo's Easter Party

We had the best time at Mrs. Vo's Easter Party. She invited us over to a magical fairytale Easter party, complete with precious little Easter bunnies!!

There were also two baby goats that were very lovable, and lots of BUBBLES in the air! We played lots of Easter games too. We had a Easter Egg hunt and got prizes! I won these fuzzy ears!

Hurricane Dress Up Party

This is what a toddler does when the power goes out during a hurricane.
First, I got all dressed up in my swimsuit. I put on my one-piece AND my bikini bottoms (in case of a storm surge). Then I put on my sun glasses, hat, and a scarf. I'm prepared no matter what the weather does!

Then I dressed up my mama in my hat and scarf! She looks so funny!! And I took a picture of my mama by myself with her camera!

My Li Li must be really REALLY loaded because she has one of those cool tubs!!!

Swimmin at Nanny's!!!

Nanny has a pool in her subdivision, and we have never used it before this week. What were we thinking?!! It was soooooooooooooooooooo much fun, the weather was awesome, and Hannah LOVED being in the water. With 50+ proof sunscreen and some floaties, she was good to go!!! Having a blast with her Nanny and Mama at the pool!!She met a little girl at the pool and according to Hannah, her name was really "lil girl." She kept saying, "No Mama, her name not Ahna (which it was), her name lil girl!" They held hands and jumped into the baby pool about a thousand times...

Hannah spent the better half of Mother's Day in her swimming pool asking "where is it?" She was referring to a lizard.

She said, "THERE IT IS!"

Daddy-Daughter Dinner

Hannah had a special treat for her when she got home this afternoon. She and her DaDa went to their very first "Daddy Daughter Dinner" at Lafayette's Restaurant.

First, her DaDa gave her a flower to plant in the garden.

Then he brought her to the restaurant, where there were over 100 other daddies and daughters! It was precious.

Too bad the night ended early when Hannah FREAKED OUT and cried hysterically for Abbey and then for her MaMa (I was there as the photographer)! Oh well!! She's two. What do you expect?!

My friend Heather Dupre (HI HEATHER! HI GIRLS!) gave Hannah a big stuffed Elmo for Christmas. She asked me to put a picture of Hannah with Elmo up on the blog so she could see her with it, so I gladly got out the camera. Here she is with her Elmo.

Well, folks, this is about as close to having a picture of Hannah playing in the snow as I'll get in Louisiana. Here's Hannah playing under my camellia bush. Each winter, the entire tree blooms with thousands of pink camellias, and after a while, the pedals start to fall to the ground. It's a lovely sight and Hannah loves to play with the soft pedals.

The sad thing is that it was about 80 degrees outside when we went out to take these pics. I made her wear her new sweater so I'd have at least a couple of "wintery" looking pictures. It's a crazy HOT winter here!!!

Big Girl Bed

Seems like just yesterday we were thrilled about Hannah moving up to a toddler bed from her crib. And now she's already made the big move to her BIG GIRL BED!! She outgrew the toddler bed really quick... she's so tall and she wasn't comfortable in it. So off she went to the big bed. I think she likes it. She doesn't like it at NIGHT... however... This is what I usually see when I go in there at night to tell her to go 'night-night'...

Here's my little ladybug all dressed up and ready for a big time. We had a lot of places to go and a lot of people to see! The first stop we made was to church to put on her costume. LiLi and Lissa got to see her first, and Aunt Lissa even did Hannah's face up real cute for her ladybug moment.

Tammy came to meet me and we left the Bayou and went to my dad's.

After that, we made a quick run to Hannah's great-gramma's house... Our Nana!

Then we went to dinner with LiLi, GiGi, Ginger, Karen, Aunt Lissa and Evan at Café Roma's in River Ranch. Hannah ate more pasta than I did!

Off we went to see JuJu with DaDa now. When we got there, Hannah found a jolly rancher, and then...

CHOCOLATE!!! She wanted it so bad, she didn't wait to unwrap it. :) A girl after my own heart..

We went by the Petry's afterwards and got to see Emma and Cameron dressed up like the Wizard of Oz. Cameron was Dorothy and Emma was the wicked witch. OH MY!

Pumpkin Patch

Hannah and I got to go play in the pumpkin patch this weekend with her friend Evan. She had an awesome time. And I had an awesome time being able to take pictures again!!! I took over 400 on Saturday morning!

We went to the pumpkin patch at 10am with LiLi, Nanny, Jason, Melissa, and Evan. It was a lot of fun. Hannah got to ride in a hay ride and she saw goats, chickens, ducks, and a nasty pig!

Dryer Time

Hannah decided to have a little fun while her Mama answered the phone tonight. I was doing the laundry and the phone rang, so I went to grab it, and Hannah seized the moment to climb into the dryer! And since I just got my BRAND NEW CAMERA last night, decided to grab it and get some shots!!!!

A Day with the Ducks

We had a day with the ducks last weekend. Hannah went to the park with LiLi, GiGi, Nanny, Jason, and Mama.

She liked feeding the ducks with Nanny's boyfriend, Jason.

We brought bread to feed the ducks, but Hannah had other plans. Hannah especially loved playing hide and seek with Nanny. And she loved hanging out with LiLi and GiGi (all while eating the duck's food).

Unfortunately, later on that day, my mom (GiGi) got bit by a small black bug in my backyard and went into anaphalactic shock. She had to be rushed to the hospital. I'm happy to report that she is now doing great but will probably never step foot in my yard again...

Yeah, note to self (and anyone else reading)...

NEVER buy a good piece of camera equipment from Best Buy. Or Circuit City for that matter. Buy it from a reputible camera dealer. I sent my camera off to be fixed through Best Buy since I had purchased the four year warranty. So I get the camera back finally and it doesn't let any light into the lens to get the shots! All the pictures are coming out black!!!!!

So I've reverted back to my old point and shoot Cybershot. Here's a few of the latest of Hannah. They are poor quality, but at least you can see how she's getting along.

These were taken at Lindy's house for her fajita party. Hannah went right to the piano and played like an old pro. I think it's time for us to get a piano... anyone have an old one they don't want anymore??????

Our Visit with Susan, Ben, and Emily

We took a trip to Katy, Texas to see our good friends Susan, Ben and their little precious baby girl, Emily. I spent most of the trip taking pictures of our little girls getting to know each other. They bonded during the trip, and now Hannah kisses Emily's picture in her photo book and says "sissy" when she sees her. So cute. A few weeks ago, I went to drill with James at Barksdale Air Force Base. While there, I got to go on base and shop at the BX. This is a GREAT store that the military folks get to shop at with super prices and they pay no taxes on the merchandise. I picked up this precious pink shirt for Hannah for exactly $1.25. The military rocks!

I tried to get her to wear the hat, but that didn't last for long... She switched to a little bow in her hair when we went to visit Li Li and Gi Gi.

I hope she never gets sick of me taking pictures... :)

LiLi and GiGi (my Aunt Linda and my mom) and Aunt Lo Lo (Aunt Loretta) in New Mexico love to see Hannah in the bathtub. So these pics are for them! For Hannah, bath time is a major event in her day. Hannah loves to take a "ba." This is such a treat for her. She really thinks it's a swimming pool.

She loves the bubbles, her duckies, splashing in the water, and especially making mama all wet. She lays around like she's in a pool. It's so cute. When she gets older she's going to kill me for posting all these bath shots. HAHAHAHAHAH!

My little Driver

Hannah is growing more and more independent each day. So much, in fact, that she is now driving. I know, can you believe it? She's even had her first wreck.

Here's how it all started. She wanted to go for a ride in her wagon, so she got in it all by herself, but was dismayed when she realized she couldn't both ride AND push at the same time. Having her mother's patience, she quickly got out and started pushing the wagon herself.

Low and behold, mama's new car is in the way! And SMASH!!!! right into the new car. Luckily mama was taking pictures and didn't want to break her camera by beating the child.

And what does the little monster do? She flees the scene of the crime! That rascal.

Hey, what can I say... life's never boring with a toddler. :-)

A Day in the Life...

I thought I'd show you what Hannah and I have been up to this summer. I've been terrible about blogging because I can't do anything except chase a toddler around saying "No No" all the time. It's loads of entertainment...

So this is what my living room typically looks like...

This is Hannah touching things that don't belong to her. She hears "No No!" a lot these days.

Here's her newest fascination- ICE. She says "Eye-shhhhh" for ice. Then she proceeds to put her hand in MY glass and help herself to MY eyeshhh. Sheesh.

Another one of her "fascinations"--- this one is constantly turning on the lamp. Crazy.

Hannah is enjoying her summer. We spend a lot of time in the pool in the backyard. She loves to get in and out (and in... and out...) of the pool. This means that the water is filled with grass, dirt, and little crawling things by the time we get out. But she loves it.

Her absolute favorite thing to do is to get her head in the water. She'll lay down in the pool (I only fill it about an inch or two with water) and so she lays in it and just smiles and smiles.

She has been a real MESS this summer, so I haven't been able to post on the blog like I used to. This summer, I have learned what the "Terrible Twos" are all about. Help me Lord, for I am weak... hahahahahah!

The First Happy Meal...

She's 17 months old and we finally got her a Happy Meal. Okay, Okay, some of you might think this is a travesty to hold out on the beloved meal for this long. But I think it's awesome that she hasn't been eating fast food. If I can do anything to help her be a balanced, healthy eater, I'll do it. Nevertheless, in a weak moment we decided to get McDonalds last weekend and here she is with her first box.... Needless to say, she didn't have any trouble figuring out what was in that magical McD box, and she quickly learned that a chicken McNugget is a pretty darn good piece of meat.Moments later, she discovered the dipping sauce, and it kindled a new love inside her... dipping her food into anything saucy. This is her new obsession. And look at the skill! What form! Go girl. That's my champ.Here's a play back of that amazing dunk!

Hannah found a puddle after a rainstorm last weekend and decided she needed to play in the water. The sun had just come back out and it was such a gorgeous day that I had to let her play. She had a ball splashing around and getting her (and everyone around her) soaking wet.

And yes, those are her brand new leather sandals. :( But hey, sometimes splashing in water puddles is more important than shoes.

Fun with the Flowers

Hannah spent some time in our neighbor's yard the other day. Our neighbor, Mrs. Vicki, has some gladiolas and other flowers blooming right now, and Hannah decided she needed to smell these flowers. She told us that she needed to smell them right away, and she wasn't budging until she smelled them.

She was all decked out in her white outfit with matching bonnet, so we decided to let her have a go at these pollen-infused beauties. Not only did she try to SMELL the flowers, she tried to EAT them!!! If you look closely, you can see the pollen all over her mouth!! What a cutie...

I have been terrible about taking pictures of only Hannah, and not Hannah with other people. So here are a few pics of Hannah with her peeps. Here is Hannah with her favorite person in the world... her Nanny!!! I'll say to her, "Hannah, who loves you?" and she replies "Mama!" Then I say, "Hannah, who do YOU love?" Her answer: "Nanny!!" How do you like that!! Sheeesh!!!

Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately. I got real sick recently but now I'm better. Here are some of the latest pics of Hannah. She is 17 months old now and running around like mad. It's hard to get a single picture of her actually looking at me now because she's so busy moving all the time. She just heard the train passing by...

This is her mad face. Her PopPop had just told her to give him that plastic trash that was in her hands, and she thought it was a new favorite toy. She did NOT want to give up her new found treasure.

Here's my little angel. I bought her this dress over a year ago in Houston, and I just had to get a picture of her in it one more time before I pack it away. I used a Cokin cold color diffuser for this pic to give it that 'hazy, dreamy' look. Unfortunately, Hannah decided that the pic really needed a beach toy right in the middle of the shot. Little turkey.

Happy Mother's Day

Here's Hannah in a pretty flower dress that her Aunt LiLi gave her. She was adorable in it on Mother's Day. We had a big time on Mother's Day... we went to church, then afterwards, we went to Copland's for lunch with GiGi, LiLi, Nanny, and Nanny's new friend Jason. Hannah really liked him (so did the rest of us!!). Hannah ate big time good food at Copland's. She had bowtie pasta appetiser with spinach and artichoke dip, and she nearly licked the plate clean. She was a very good baby, so she must have known it was an important day.

Festival Baby

Hannah is a Festival International veteran. She has been every year of her life. She went with me last year, just the two of us. And this year she went with a bunch of family and friends. Tammy, Amy, Linda and I brought Hannah on Saturday and we spent most of the day there. We heard the Imagination Movers, Son de Madera from Mexico, and the Chris Hare quartet. I went to college with Chris, so it was great to see him performing with his group at the festival. I think she is getting the hang of how to 'hang loose' at the festival. Here she is listening to the Chris Hare Quartet.

Hannah and her nanny went to cool off in the water, and I managed to immortalize some little boys falling britches in the process... thanks kid...

That night, Tammy, Amy, Hannah and I went back to the festival and saw Eddie Bo, Group Fantasma, and Beausoleil with Michael Doucet. Hannah just chilled out in her stroller and cheered for all the bands. So cute! Here she is enjoying herself with some bizarre toy her nanny gave her....

Sunday after church, James, Tammy, Amy, me, and Hannah went back downtown for more international tunes.We saw four groups: Frigg- a fiddle group from Finland, Solas from Ireland, the Lovell Sisters (my personal favorite) and Amazones: Women Drummers of Guinea. They were AMAZING! Hannah had a ball dancing and watching those women play their drums. It was a great festival weekend and I'm so glad it was such beautiful weather for festival!!

My Little Tornado

Yes, that's my beautiful baby girl. What has happened to that once sweet, docile child I once knew?? I haven't posted anything lately because Hannah is just too busy to stop for photos these days. She is my little tornado. She runs all over her toys, plows into the furniture head first, tries to dive off of the couch, ottoman, and other furniture, and is basically a big mess. She's also started throwing temper tantrums. Is this the beginning of the "Terrible Twos" that I've always heard of?? If so, she's starting early. She literally throws herself onto the ground and beats it, screaming at the top of her lungs. She also has taken up the sport of beating on her own body if she's mad. Ah, the joys of motherhood...

Here she is in her wagon. That's about the only time she'll be still long enough to get a picture of her. She has her "BUBBAHS" with her. Her bubble maker. She screams BUBBAHS wildly as she drips bubble juice all over her outfit...

Here's Hannah with her gramma, "GiGi." GiGi came to spend the weekend with Hannah and me. We had a big time reading books, playing with toys, and chasing around the little tornado.

International Day at Ridge

Here's Hannah at the International Day at Ridge. She had a ball playing instruments from Jamaica. She had even more fun when I brought her to my classroom and let her play my congas and bells. Here she is with a student of mine, Gracie and her mom, Summer. Summer and I have become friends this school year, and what a bummer... they are moving to Ernest Gallet next school year. BUMMER!! Summer is having a baby in June. Sha!This is Mrs. Heather Dupre getting to hold Hannah in PERSON!! She just loves my baby girl and checks her blog all the time to see how she is growing. Hannah says, "Hi, Mrs. Heather!!" After running ALL OVER the playground, she stopped to cool off at the water station.
She had a big day at the International Day at Ridge!
Next stop, Festival International de Louisiane!!!! Hoooooray!!!!!

Radio Flyer

Here is the proud baby girl in her new Radio Flyer wagon, complete with TWO seats. Do you think anyone is trying to hint around that we need another little one to fill that seat???It's great to have so many family members that love us, and who really love Hannah. My dad is in love with that baby girl. Whenever we really would like to get something for her but can't afford it, he steps in and helps us out. My dad and Emma loved giving this wagon to Hannah, and they spent all day Saturday riding around in it. Thanks, PopPop and Auntie Em!

Bike!

We finally broke down and got our baby girl a bike. Buying her a bike signifies that she's not a baby anymore, so I put off buying her one until we went to our friend's house and Hannah rode every toy they had. Then I felt bad for her... poor thing... she's so neglected and all... doesn't have ANYTHING else to play with...

This is her first tricycle. It's pink and purple and it has tassles on the handlebars, which make her very happy. Every time the tassle catches her eye, she says "oooooh." I think she's in love. The night we brought it home she stayed on it until bed time, even though she didn't know how to peddle it. She was as contented as can be just sitting on it.

She can even say bike now. Biiii, biiiii. That's all we hear around our house. That, and "bubbles!" are her two favorite things to do right now. Here she is putting down her bubbles so she can go riding again. What a rough life!

A bit of Easter!

We had a great Easter. We all went to church and then to my mom's house in Opelousas. All of Don's family were there too, so there were a lot of people for Hannah to play with.

When we came home, Hannah's PopPop and Auntie Emma came over and we had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. She had so much fun running around the yard gathering Easter eggs... although I don't think she knew we had eggs outside...

Battle Wounds

Hannah is wearing her first battle wound from her first climbing accident... and from what all my 'mommy friends' have told me, this is just the first of many. Ah, what joys await us!

Hannah and I were playing in her room, and I turned for about five seconds to fold a blanket over the side of her crib, when Hannah decided to get on the glider and take a nose dive right into the wooden window sill. This first picture is about ten minutes after it happened... nice red bump right on her cheek.

The next morning, it had become her first shiner, complete with yellow and black bruises to complete the look. And naturally... just in time for Easter. Perhaps I'll send these pics out instead of doing a cute photo shoot with the Easter bunny.... ha ha...

About time for some riding toys..

Hannah and I went to our neighbor Isabelle's first birthday party over the weekend. And boy, did Hannah have fun.

Dillon and Isabelle have tons of riding toys and Hannah was ALL OVER THEM. Boy did she have a blast!

She's my little motorcycle babe!

I am thinking we need to get her some riding toys too. What do you think?

Our visit with Aunt Susan and Emily!

My best pal Susan and her little 9 month old baby girl Emily drove in from Houston and came over for a visit with Hannah and me. She even brought Chili's for dinner. What a great dinner guest!

Hannah loved Emily immediately.

I mean, she loved her BARRETTE and decided she needed it immediately....

Hannah turned 15 months today! We can't believe how fast she is growing. I can remember talking to our worship pastor at church one day and I asked him how old his littlest one was. He told me he was 18 months, and I freaked because he looked so small to me and it seemed like so long ago that he was born. I was scared of little infants, having absolutely no experience with the little ones. Now I look at my own daughter and I can't believe how fast the time has flown.

These pictures were taken at Girard Park over the weekend. That baby girl sure does love to swing!

Conquering the SPOON

We have been trying for months now to get Hannah to eat with a spoon. I don't know what the benchmarks are as to what age they SHOULD be eating with a spoon, but I can tell you definitively that Hannah is NOT getting it.
Until today! I was so shocked that I nearly missed it! She usually holds the spoon in one hand, and then feed herself with her other hand. This makes for one messy eater...but at least she has a grip on that spoon!

Then I guess she decided, "why am I holding this silly thing? Might as well try to use it!" And it worked! She's gettin' after it now...Naturally, eating directly FROM the bowl is always a third option when tired of the hand and the spoon...

And wearing her breakfast is also a personal favorite...

A friend of mine found a new website to post pictures on, and it seems to be more user friendly than the sites I have used in the past to post pictures. So, if you are interested in keeping up with little Hannah, her pictures are now on a website called "My Photo Album" and it's at http://caryn.myphotoalbum.com

I'll also have pictures on my flickr account http://www.flickr.com/photos/carynbodin/ but I'll be reserving that website for my 'best' photography. It will have scenery, weddings, baby photo shoots, flowers, and other things that I shoot and like.

Anyway, that's the latest on the pictures!! I know some of you check the flickr site a lot to see Hannah and found it to be too hard to maneuver around. Hopefully you will like the "My Photo Album" site better. Let me know what you think. I've posted her first birthday party, valentine's day, and 14 month pics. I'll put more up as I learn how to use the sight!

Tuesday- Hannah gets the stomach virus

Wednesday- James gets the stomach virus and vomits all night

Thursday, 6:00am- Julie called and said that she got the stomach virus that Hannah has... so my baby got it, my husband got it, and now Aunt Ju Ju- who watches Hannah- got it!!! What a mess. I am praising God right now for allowing me to stay well through all of this. Julie said this virus knocked her off her feet and she's been in bed all day today. James is still sick throwing up. Hannah seems to be doing much better today. She ate a whole banana tonight and played a little bit. I am worried she is going to suck all the skin right off of her little thumb though... ick!

Cha...Cha...Cha...

And we're not dancing over here at my house...

I'm talking about the stomach virus that Hannah has. It's not been very fun. She started throwing up and having the "cha cha cha's" yesterday at her Aunt Ju Ju's house and she continued to feel terrible all last night and all day today. She ran fever and couldn't even keep pedia-lite down. Today, all she ate was three crackers, some bread, and a little mashed potatoes all day. Poor little thing. I hate it when she gets sick.

The worst news is that James got it this afternoon and hasn't been able to keep anything down since 11 this morning...

Pray I don't start doing the cha cha because I gotta go to work!!

My baby girl is BUSY. Her latest trick is to clean house. This is her wiping up big spills on the kitchen floor. Awww... what a big helper. The funny thing is that these pictures aren't staged! Sha little babe. She's really working hard. Is this considered child labor?!She especially loves sweeping.

Amazing... since she never sees me do this, I have no idea how she acquired this skill. Perhaps out of sheer necessity.

We had a great day on Saturday shooting valentine pics at Li Li's house. Hannah had fun watching her Nanny make silly faces trying to get her to smile. But what she REALLY wanted to do was to find out what was INSIDE that heart!

More Tub Time

My baby girl loves that bathtub. I mean, loves it so much it borderlines on the unnatural. Who likes to take a bath as much as her?! She begs to go take baths, asking us "ba...ba..." and showing us the sign for bath. It's so adorable. Typically we give in by 6:30 each night, and she splashes until the entire room is covered in water.

She plays with her "Maa" in the tub. Now, she's really referring to her DUCKS, but she calls them all Max. Max is the wienie dog at her Aunt Ju Ju's house. Now every living animal is called "Ma." Here she is with a few of her "Maa"s.

The Invasion of ELMO

Elmo has invaded our quiet, peaceful home. He's everywhere. Hannah has an Elmo chair that giggles when you sit on it. She has an Elmo that does the hokey pokey. She has an Elmo/Cookie Monster ball that giggles and shakes when you squeeze it. And now, her latest Elmo purchase... the "So Big" Elmo book. She likes it. A lot.
She reads it over and over. We bought it for her because ever since she started reading Pat the Bunny, she always puts her hands in the air when it said... "How big is bunny? So big!" That's her latest 'trick'... she can put her hands in the air when we say "How big is Hannah." So when I saw this Elmo book, I couldn't pass it up. We should have bought stock in Sesame Street.

Saints Fans

We had a great time watching the NFC Championship Game last Sunday. Our team, the Saints, have never made it this far before in the history of the franchise, so we decided that we would have our own little football party, just James, Hannah, and me.

Hannah watched the game for about... two minutes. Then she decided it would be more fun to hang out somewhere else...INSIDE her toy chest. Good call baby girl...

PAT THE BUNNY!!!!

This my baby's latest obsession: Pat the Bunny. Allow me to show you what I am referring to:

Hannah is perfectly content listening to someone read her this book over, and over, and over, and over. Usually, she can't even stay still long enough to have her diaper changed. But if you're reading Pat the Bunny to her... she'll sit quietly for what seems like hours. Hannah loves when her daddy reads Pat the Bunny to her.

She wants to do it, so don't even try to help her. And don't think for one minute you can skip some of the lines in the book, because she'll point to the page that the words are on and look at you like HELLO!! YOU MISSED SOMETHING!She especially likes this book because she can do all the things it says to do. She pats the bunny, then she plays peek-a-boo with the boy in the story, Paul, then she feels daddy's scratchy face and puts the ring on her finger. There's one part in the book where it says "How big is bunny? Soooooo big!" And so now we can ask Hannah, "How big is Hannah?" and she puts her hands in the air like the little bunny and we all say "Soooo big!" It's precious.

You may have been wondering what is up with Hannah because I haven't posting pictures lately. Well, I am here to solve the mystery and show you what she's been up to. The truth is, I can't get her to be STILL long enough to take a good picture!!! She is all over the place and won't keep still for a second!! See for yourself.

All I can get lately is shots of her running away from me because she won't stay still long enough to SMILE for the camera!! There she goes with her toys in hand!

Yes, she's sitting in my refrigerator. Don't ask me... but she loves it right there.

Christmas, Part Two

Christmas day we went to my step-sister Donna's house in Opelousas. They have a beautiful house in a lovely neighborhood, a perfect place for a big Christmas celebration.

Donna's daughter Sarah has a 17-month old son, Carson. I think she liked him.They played by the window looking out of it and screaming to anyone that would hear them.Hannah and Carson got to hang out all day long in Carson's play room. He's got a toy or two that he plays with...

Christmas! Part One

Last year, Hannah was only six days old on Christmas day. That was officially her "First Christmas," but she was hardly awake more than a few minutes at a time. This year, things were much different! She was completely aware of the holiday and even more excited about getting her hands on presents! She was schooled rather quickly, since her first birthday party was on the 17th of this month... she had ample gifts to open that day and she learned quickly that under that wrap was something wonderful for her to have.

Hannah enjoyed opening gifts at our house on Christmas morning.

She also got to open gifts at Nana's- her Great Grandmother's house.

Birthday Breakfast

Hannah turned ONE on Tuesday. Since we had her first birthday party on Saturday, I decided that we still had to do something fun on her big day. So I woke up extra early and made us all a hot meal for breakfast.
We had pancakes and bacon, and Hannah got to have whole milk for the first time! No more formula!!! Hooray! Hooray! She LOVED the milk. She threw back six ounces in one big gulp!!Hannah enjoyed eating her pancakes too. Hers didn't have syrup on them like ours did, she enjoyed them just the same. She even double-fisted them into her mouth. Yep... she's my baby!!
The other big news of the day is that we got to change the car seat around so that it's forward facing!!! I read the instructions from the manufacturer, and the warning label says the child should be over 20lb AND over 1 year old before it is turned forward. So I complied. She only weighs about 20lb 7 oz now, so I thought why not just wait until she's one just to be safe. She was thrilled over the change, and she showed her enthusiasm by screaming the entire way to Aunt JuJu's. We have one happy baby!!

Hannah's first birthday is this Tuesday, December 19th. On Saturday, we had her first birthday party. She had a BLAST. Man, my baby is one hip kid. She enjoyed every part of her party... from opening presents to eating her cake, socializing with all the people and even sharing her new toys with the kids, she had a big time. She has such a good disposition too. She skipped lunch, didn't take a bottle, and just had mouthfuls of nasty pink icing and cake. And she was happy as a lark. She never cried, never fussed, nothing. Just played and played. She missed her afternoon nap, and still just had a ball. She didn't miss one second of her first birthday party.
